How to measure

  1. 1Use a soft tape measure, or a piece of string and a ruler.
  2. 2Wrap it around the neck where the collar naturally sits, just below the ears.
  3. 3Add two finger widths so it's snug, not tight. That's your number.

How to measure

  1. 1Stand your dog up. Chest is measured standing, not lying down.
  2. 2Wrap a soft tape around the ribcage right behind the front legs, at the deepest point.
  3. 3Add two finger widths so the harness is snug, not tight. That's your chest number.
  4. 4Check the neck too: the harness neck opening should slide over the head without forcing.
Need a custom size?
Deep-chested dogs like greyhounds and boxers often need a size up from their collar size.
Two fingers should fit under every strap. Check behind the front legs for rubbing after the first walks.
Pullers: clip the leash to the harness, keep the collar on for the ID tag.

My dog is between sizes. Which should I pick?

Size up. Every collar adjusts about 4 inches within its range, so the larger size will still tighten to fit while leaving room to grow.

How wide should the collar be?

Wider collars spread pressure for strong pullers and big necks. Slim collars suit small dogs and dogs with delicate throats. Our chart lists the width we recommend for each size.

What if it doesn't fit?

Send it back within 30 days and we'll adjust it for free. Puppies are welcome to trade up a size as they grow.
